2011 ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing Award
Dear Steven E. Rinehart:
Congratulations! In recognition of your commitment to providing our nation’s homebuyers with ENERGY STAR qualified homes, Rinehart Real Estate Inspection Service has earned the 2011 ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing Award. This award recognizes your organization’s work in promoting energy efficient construction and helping to protect the environment through its partnership with ENERGY STAR.
Despite ongoing concerns in the housing market, both home builders and home buyers are continuing to invest in energy efficient homes. More than 126,000 new homes were constructed to meet ENERGY STAR guidelines in 2010, bringing the total number of ENERGY STAR qualified homes to nearly 1.2 million to date. In 2010, more than 20 percent of all single-family homes built nationally earned EPA’s ENERGY STAR label.
Last year alone, with the help of ENERGY STAR and partners like you, Americans saved about $18 billion on their utility bills and avoided greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of 33 million vehicles. We appreciate the contribution that your organization has made to help ENERGY STAR achieve this great level of success and for your continued partnership.
